I found this sankey graph really enlighting in terms of how water is routed in the technosphere, and there are several insights revealed here, perhaps most interestingly the losses and internal use in drinking water treatment and distribution amount to 25%, and the volume of stormwater treated by wastewater treatment plants even exceed the volume of actual household wastewater (580 Mcbm compared to about 480 Mcbm).… Read more

Report from the first WaterAware workshop

The workshop was a great experience with a handful of enthusiastic participants defying the terrific summer weather, spending an evening in the HSB Living Lab conference room that would otherwise have been ideal for barbecue with friends.

The workshop program comprised an introduction guest lecture on video link by professor Greg Morrsion of Curtin University, Australia,, a brainwriting session, a co-creation workshop session and finally presentations and summaries.Read more

Welcome the official WaterAware website. Here we will publish information about the project which was granted funds from HSB Living Lab for hosting a co-creation workshop on data driven eco-feedback to consumers on their water behavior.

Water is a renewable but limited resource, and the production, distribution and treatment of (waste)water require considerable input in terms of energy and infrastructure.
